The Cultural-Historical Festival “Radviliada” September 8-10

The festival is dedicated to the history of Kėdainiai and Dukes Radvilas. The programme includes concerts of historical dance and song bands, performances, tastings and lectures.

PROGRAMME:

September 8, Friday, 3.30 pm at the Multicultural Centre (Paeismilgio g.12B) a discussion by historians prof. Raimonda Ragauskienė, prof. Aivas Ragauskas and prof. Deimantas Karvelis “370 Years of the Book “Knyga nobažnystės krikščioniškos“. Was Kėdainiai the Lithuanian cultural model of the Radvilas?”.

5.30 pm at Kėdainiai Evangelical Reformed Church (Senoji g. 3) baroque opera “Livjeta and Trakolas“ (Livietta e Tracollo). Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710–1736). Performed by the young Lithuanian and Latvian performers.

 

September 9, Saturday, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm demonstration of ancient Lithuanian crafts in the yard of the Centre of Traditional Crafts (Radvilų g. 21) by craftsmen club “Crafts of manor estate“ („Dvaro amatai“, Vilnius) and Traditional Centre of Crafts of the Museum of Kėdainiai Region.

11.00 am at Kėdainiai Evangelical Reformed Church students of Kėdainiai, Biržai and Kaunas J. Naujalis Music Schools will perform a composition of seventeenth-century music and texts of the book “Book of the Christian Piety“ (Knyga nobažnystės krikščioniškos, published in 1653), the part ‘‘On the Blason of His Goodness“.

12.30 at Kėdainiai Evangelical Reformed Church the concert of the quartet “Jazzbaroque“ (Jānis Rubiks, Latvia).

 

September 10, Sunday, 2.00 pm, at Kėdainiai Evangelical Reformed Church a concert “Unexpected“ of the music project “Magnetic Bach“ (Latvia / Switzerland).

6.00 pm closing of the festival at Evangelical Reformed Church with a musical performance “The Return of St Genesius Troupe“. Ensemble “Camerata dei Folli“ (Lithuania/Latvia/Spain/Mexico).
